Hafizat Sanni-Anibire is a PhD student at the University of Manitoba and a former early childhood educator. She is a first-generation immigrant Canadian of Nigerian heritage. Her diverse experiences living and working across Canada, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia deeply inform her work as an educator, policy analyst and educational researcher. Her academic focus on race, belonging, migration, and childhood studies enables her to support students from various backgrounds with insight and sensitivity.
Math and Physics Tutor
Akeem holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in physics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He furthered his academic career by earning a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the African University of Science and Technology in Abuja, Nigeria, where he focused on research in Biomedical Engineering. His master's research project was particularly notable for its exploration of innovative approaches to reduce stress shielding in hip implants, using porous Titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V). Akeem went on to complete a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. His doctoral research centered on the use of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to study dental wear. His dedication and significant contributions to this field have earned him prestigious scholarships, including awards from the Nelson Mandela Institute and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
Biology and Science Tutor
Solihu Kayode Sakariyahu is a PhD candidate at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Western University, London, Ontario. He completed his MSc at the Pan African University, Institute of Life and Earth Sciences in Ibadan, where he was awarded the African Union Commission MSc Scholarship. As a graduate research fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), he conducted his MSc thesis research focused on enhancing cowpea's tolerance to biotic stress. Before embarking on his PhD journey, Solihu gained valuable experience as a visiting research scholar at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia and served as an Assistant Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. His academic excellence has been recognized with multiple awards and scholarships. Beyond his academic pursuits, Solihu is passionate about travelling and enjoys gardening and finding peace in the serenity of nature.
Chemistry and science Tutor
Dr. Ahmed Lasisi is a Soil Scientist with the British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Canada. Dr. Lasisi currently works on improving agricultural resilience to climate change by finding scientific beneficial management practices that improve agricultural productivity and build agroecosystem resilience to climate change. Dr. Lasisi obtained his Masters and Ph.D degrees in Soil Science from the University of Manitoba with a focus on Soil Nutrient Management and Chemodynamics. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He is a recipient of different awards from various institutions including the Canadian Society of Soil Science. Dr. Lasisi has more than 15 years of teaching experience at High school, undergraduate and graduate levels. Ahmed has taught (and still teaching) Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Physical chemistry, and Environmental courses in various institutions. He was a guest instructor at The University of Winnipeg, The University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Manitoba. Ahmed is a father of threegreat kids with whom he spends his leisure time with. He loves playing tennis, watching documentary movies, and playing soccer games (PS). Sulaimon Fadairo holds a PhD in Food Science from the University of Manitoba, where his research focused on improving the extraction and functional evaluation of phenolic antioxidants and other health-promoting compounds from canola and mustard seeds/co-products using innovative and sustainable processing techniques such as air frying, microwave extraction, microemulsion, and supercritical CO2 processing technique. Dr. Fadairo holds a B.Sc. in Food Technology (First class honors) from the University of Ibadan, a M.Sc. in Food Safety and Quality Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, and a National and Higher National Diploma in Food Technology from The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. Sulaimon Fadairo received numerous prestigious awards/scholarships during his studentship including the Murphy Foundation and Friesland Campina (WAMCO) Nigeria Plc. With a strong foundation in food safety and quality assurance, Sulaimon has practical experience in various roles within the food industry, such as Quality Health, Safety & Environment, and R&D. His professional training includes HACCP, ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2015, and strategic occupational safety and health management. In addition to his research and industry experience, he’s passionate about teaching and mentorship. Sulaimon plays tennis and enjoys exploring nature at his leisure.
Adenuga Adelakun is a professional in the Power and Energy industry with over 10 years of working experience. His domain expertise in the field includes working as a design engineer, product service engineer and his current focus is on Plant and Accessory systems for both simple and combined cycle. Adenuga holds both B.Sc and M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering with focus in Thermal Science and Energy Systems. As a Ph.D student at University of Manitoba, his research focus is on Ammonia as a combustion and carbon-free fuel. He has been leading innovation to reduce global carbon footprint and NOx emissions. Engr. Adelakun is a Registered Engineer both in Canada & Nigeria. He loves teaching and mentoring others to grow professionally. In his free time, he plays tennis, football & playstation, and he is a fan of Real Madrid CF.
Math Tutor
Ismail is a planning and research analyst, economist, and banker with 14 years of professional experience spanning the public sector, capital market, commercial banking, and the digital technology space. Ismail holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in Economics, and diplomas in statistics and digital strategies for businesses. Ismail commenced his professional experience as a banker with Zenith Bank Plc between 2010 and 2015. He joined Africa Prudential Plc in 2015 where he served in different capacities ranging from strategy analyst, product owner, and executive assistant to two chief executive officers of the company up until 2022. He currently serves as a Planning and Research Analyst with the Government of Manitoba.
Rosheedat Adeniji is a PhD student at the Faculty of Education, University of Manitoba. She has bachelor’s and master's degrees in Adult Literacy, Training and Development in Nigeria. With her great passion for teaching and research, Rosheedat has worked as a high school teacher, a sessional instructor at the Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan, and a research assistant for the preparation and writing of training manual for primary school teachers’ development program in Oyo state, Nigeria. She is relentlessly growing her scholarly career, collaborating with professors and colleagues on various research works. Rosheedat is committed to lifelong learning and aspiring to advance the field of educational leadership and change.

Ismail is a seasoned professional with 14 years of diverse experience spanning information security, chemical engineering, and electrical engineering. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry, a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, and a postgraduate certificate in Information Security Management. Taofeek Mustapha, P.Eng, is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management from Red River College Polytechnic, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Additionally, he earned a diploma in Building Technology from Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Nigeria. Taofeek has extensive experience, having worked with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), where he advanced to the role of Principal Engineer. He also gained valuable experience as a Field Engineering Assistant and Highway Engineering Assistant with Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure. He is a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) and a Registered Civil Engineer (R.Engr.) with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Outside his academic and professional endeavors, Taofeek enjoys traveling and watching soccer. I have a master of business administration (MBA) degree from Obafemi Awolowo Univerisy.
